My Publishing Imprints

I launched Better Days Books back in 2008. Better Days Books publishes quality reprint editions of classic American non-fiction books, focusing on titles that uniquely capture the hard-working “can-do!” spirit of the 18th, 19th and early 20th Centuries – times when courage, self-reliance, clean living and upright moral virtue defined the common character of the American People. The primary focus of Better Days Books is on traditional skills, homestead knowledge, and old fashioned holiday customs and traditions. You won’t find a lot of these vintage titles anywhere else – especially as real paper books you can hold in your hand (as opposed to eBooks, though each title is available in multiple eBook formats, as well), and many are original creations, such as The Better Days Books Vintage Christmas Reader and The Better Days Books Vintage Halloween Reader.

In 2010 I launched eSaint Library, a publishing company that makes available the great works of the Saints and other classics of Catholic spirituality, published in affordable, colorfully illustrated editions formatted for pleasurable study on a variety of today’s eReader devices. eSaint Library also develops original anthologies derived from the writings of the Saints and other great Holy People of the Church, focused on specific themes of Catholic Doctrine and life.

I have published a novel and several non-fiction titles written by me, plus a line of vegan and vegetarian cookbooks co-written with my wife, Carol Ann Whelan, under the imprint NuEvan Press. “NuEvan” is a made up word, a stylized contraction of New and Evangelization. I may expand the NP catalog in the future, but right now it’s just a vehicle for Whelan family writing.
